Product Overview
Argan oil is extracted from the nuts of the Argan tree, native to Morocco. It is exclusively produced in the southern regions of Morocco and is one of Morocco's three treasures. The oil is thick and can be yellow or orange-red in color. Moroccan argan oil used for beauty and skincare is cold-pressed, and its unique composition makes it widely used for skincare, cosmetics, and culinary purposes. The benefits of argan oil for the skin come from its antioxidant compounds, such as carotenoids, ferulic acid, fatty acids, vitamin E, catechins, and other polyphenols.
Argan Oil Production Process
Cold Pressing:
The production process of argan oil is complex and labor-intensive, with much of the work still done by hand. Producing one liter of argan oil requires a significant amount of labor, reportedly taking a day and a half, with 12 hours just to crack enough nuts using stones! After harvesting, the soft fruit flesh is manually removed, which is the most labor-intensive part of the process. The fruit flesh is used as animal feed. Next, the nuts are manually cracked open using two stones, and the kernels are extracted. This traditional processing method has been passed down through generations of local women. Stainless steel presses are then used for cold-pressing the argan kernels, followed by settling. After one to two weeks, the argan oil is filtered to produce a clear, high-quality product.

The Argan tree is native to Morocco and is cultivated in an area of about 28,000 hectares in southern Morocco, making it the second-largest forest area in the country. It is a tree that can live for 150 to 200 years, highly drought and heat-resistant, and can grow in almost any type of soil. Argan trees grow in the wild, primarily in the arid and semi-arid regions of southwestern Morocco.
