Aloe Oil Production Process

Supercritical CO2 extraction: This technique compresses gas beyond its critical point to create a supercritical fluid (SCF). It is suitable for extracting lipid-soluble substances from aloe vera, such as aloe oil, plant alkaloids, and other volatile trace components. The advantages include maintaining the biological activity of aloe vera at room temperature, especially for heat-sensitive, oxidizable, and volatile components. It also offers high extraction rates, easy separation, and low energy consumption. The main drawback is the complex and expensive high-pressure equipment required.

Plant Source - Aloe Vera

Aloe vera (Aloe vera (L.) Burm. f.) is a herbaceous perennial plant in the Asphodelaceae family. It is evergreen with a short stem; the leaves are thick and juicy, lance-shaped, with a broad, powder-green base and serrated edges. The flowers are yellow or reddish, and the fruit is triangular. Aloe blooms in late winter. The name "aloe" refers to the black color of the liquid that seeps from cut leaves, which darkens and thickens over time.

Aloe vera is native to South Africa, Madagascar, and the Arabian Peninsula, with cultivation in Southeast China, South China, and Southwest China, and occasional wild populations. It thrives in warm, dry, sunny environments, is intolerant to cold, drought-resistant, and semi-shade tolerant. It prefers fertile, loose, well-drained soil and is typically propagated by division and cuttings.

According to "Traditional Chinese Pharmacology," aloe honey can prevent and treat chemotherapy-induced phlebitis, reduce vascular endothelium damage, and has heat-clearing, detoxifying, and liver-cooling properties. Aloe is used in high-quality cosmetics and health products, widely recognized in South Korea and internationally, and is recommended by the FAO as a "best health food of the 21st century."
